The Prevention of Crime Department (PCB) of Vadodara metropolis on Friday arrested the proprietor of a fabrication firm in Makarpura GIDC for allegedly hoarding unlawful Indian Made International Liquor (IMFL) in his premises.
The PCB, which raided the premises late Thursday, seized IMFL value Rs 5.06 lakh.
PCB Inspector S D Ratada stated performing on a tip-off, the unit raided Varun Industries in GIDC and found a number of containers of IMFL.
“PCB Head Constable Rajendrasinh Bhimsinh had acquired a tip-off {that a} tempo has offloaded IMFL within the workplace of Varun Industries, situated in GIDC Makarpura… it has been concerned in unlawful sale of liquor within the guise of a fabrication unit. The premises had been raided and a stash of liquor recovered,” he added.
Cops seized 1,589 bottles of whiskey, vodka and beer. Whereas proprietor Vinu Rathod was arrested on Friday, a person named Dharmesh from Silvassa, the motive force of the van that offloaded the liquor and 4 unidentified labourers had been booked beneath the Prohibition Act. Rathod, who complained of uneasiness in the course of the raid, was taken to a hospital earlier than arrest.
