(JTA) — An umbrella affiliation of American Orthodox rabbis is looking on the Russian authorities to launch Evan Gershkovich, the imprisoned Jewish reporter for the Wall Road Journal.
The Rabbinical Alliance of America mentioned in a press release on Sunday that Russia ought to “do speedy justice by releasing Evan Gershkovich.” The alliance, often known as the Igud HaRabbonim, says it represents greater than 950 Orthodox rabbis, and makes frequent statements on public affairs within the U.S. and Israel.
