NEW DELHI: The launch of Chandrayaan-3 will happen in mid-July, Indian House Analysis Organisation (Isro) chairman S Somnath stated on Wednesday.
“At present, the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft is absolutely built-in. Now we have accomplished the testing … the window of alternative for launch is between July 12-19 … We are going to announce the precise date after all of the checks are accomplished,” stated the Isro chief.
It is a follow-on mission to Chandrayaan-2 to show end-to-end functionality in secure touchdown and roving on the lunar floor. It has a lander and rover configuration.
Chandrayaan-3 will probably be launched by the Launch Car Mark-III from the Satish Dhawan House Centre in Sriharikota.
The propulsion module will carry the lander and rover configuration until 100 km lunar orbit. It has a Spectro-Polarimetry of Liveable Planet Earth payload to check the spectral and polarimetric measurements of Earth from the lunar orbit.
Officers related to the venture stated the launch will seemingly happen on July 13 at 2.30pm.
