First gas cargo of Sinopec has commenced its discharging course of, whereas the second cargo will arrive in Sri Lanka tomorrow (August 02), Minister of Energy and Power Kanchana Wijesekera stated.
In a Twitter message, Wijesekera expressed that the entry of latest retail suppliers to the home market will ease the overseas change (foreign exchange) necessities for petroleum merchandise because the suppliers will usher in merchandise on a 12-month financing facility from their principal traders with no foreign exchange necessities from the home monetary institutes.
Accordingly, Sinopec will start retail petroleum operations with 150 gas stations islandwide, as soon as the agreements with gas station sellers are signed and finalized, he added.
