A restaurant was opened 124 meters (410 ft) under the bottom for the primary time in Sri Lanka on the Bogala Graphite Mine on August 12 for authorised guests, the Graphite Mine’s CEO Amila Jayasinghe mentioned.
The crater which was known as the Bogala Alfred Crater on the mine was renamed because the Malalasekara Graphite Crater on Saturday (12) which was the 78th Beginning Anniversary of Vijaya Prasanna Malalasekara.
The present depth of the Bogala Graphite Mine is 476 meters or 1,585 ft. Descending to a depth of 124 meters (410 ft), the primary crater excavated by the foreigners could be seen. The brand new underground restaurant has been put in about 150 meters farther from the crater.
CEO Jayasinghe mentioned that it was for the primary time in Sri Lanka {that a} restaurant had been put in in an underground crater. Fifteen individuals can take pleasure in meals at a time on this restaurant. Malalasekara Crater is mechanically provided with oxygen and Wi-Fi services as properly.
