Bengaluru: The Karnataka authorities on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with AstraZeneca Pharma India Ltd., to deploy Synthetic Intelligence (AI) based mostly lung most cancers screening expertise that can display a affected person for 29 lung illnesses in a single chest X-ray. This AI-powered chest X-ray system developed by healthtech startup ‘Qure.ai’ will assist the federal government detect lung nodules, usually precursors to lung most cancers, in 19 district hospitals in Karnataka, overcoming a significant early detection problem, officers stated.
The MoU was inked by Nationwide Well being Mission, Well being & Household Welfare Companies, on behalf of the federal government, within the presence of Well being Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao.

In Bengaluru alone, the commonest cancers in males are lung, abdomen, esophagus, and prostate. In ladies, the commonest cancers are breast, cervix, ovary, and corpus uteri.
