PESHAWAR, Pakistan – The Torkham border crossing between Pakistan and Afghanistan reopened on Tuesday for industrial cargo automobiles after Islamabad agreed to delay the implementation of its visa regime for Afghan drivers till March 31.
On January 13, Afghan authorities closed the border for commerce after Pakistan started implementing its coverage of requiring visas and passports for drivers and their help for automobiles transporting industrial cargo into the nation.
In accordance with customs officers at Torkham, cargo automobiles from Afghanistan returned to Pakistan after a 10-day hiatus, resuming industrial actions.
They added that the Afghan drivers had been given till March 31 to arrange journey paperwork per Pakistan’s necessities.
In accordance with customs sources, the federal authorities determined to delay visa restrictions after agreeing with the Afghan Consulate Common in Peshawar and the related Pakistani authorities.
Afghan drivers who should not have journey paperwork will now not be allowed to enter Pakistan starting April 1. In accordance with officers, the border crossings in Chaman, Torkham, Ghulam Khan, Angoor Ada, and Kharlachi have all been closed for the previous ten days.
