Defence Minister Rajnath Singh flew a sortie within the P-8I long-range maritime reconnaissance and anti-submarine warfare plane of the Indian Navy throughout his go to to Mumbai, a Navy Spokesperson stated on Wednesday. The defence minister flew the sortie on Tuesday hours after he launched two frontline warships of the Indian Navy on the Mazagon Docks Restricted (MDL) in Mumbai.
“Defence Minister Singh, throughout his go to to Mumbai, undertook a sortie on the Indian Navy P8I long-range maritime reconnaissance and anti-submarine warfare plane,” Navy Spokesperson Commander Vivek Madhwal stated on Wednesday. Throughout the mission, long-range surveillance, digital warfare, imagery intelligence, ASW missions and Search & Rescue capabilities using the state-of-the-art mission suite and sensors have been demonstrated.
The P-8I plane with its superior maritime surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities and operational readiness has confirmed to be an necessary asset to the Navy. The Indian Navy was the primary worldwide buyer for the P-8 plane, which is produced by US aerospace main Boeing.
