Chin Teenager Killed by Myanmar Junta Shelling

A 14-year-old has been killed by Myanmar junta shelling in Mindat Township, Chin State, a month after his youthful brother misplaced a leg in a blast.

There have been clashes between Mindat Chin Defence Power and regime troops close to Palontwe village on the border of Htilin Township in Magwe Area and Mindat Township on Wednesday. The Mindat-based Mild Infantry Battalion 274 has been shelling close by villages.

Shells landed on Madat village, injuring {the teenager}, in line with the Mindat Township Individuals’s Administration.

“A shell hit his chest. He was taken to the village clinic the place he died,” mentioned a member of the crew, which is by the resistance. “There was no combating the place the junta is shelling. The troops are concentrating on farmers and households. It’s cowardly.”

{The teenager} had eight siblings and his youthful brother misplaced his leg on Could 23 in junta shelling. 

Three Moei Twei villagers within the north of the township had been killed on June 16 by junta shelling whereas farming close to their village and round 20 homes had been destroyed within the village.

Chin State is a resistance stronghold. Regime reinforcements and drones had been despatched to Kyaukhtu airport on the border of Chin State and Magwe Area early this month. Kyaukhtu is a gateway to Mindat Township.
