BEIJING, July 3 (Xinhua) — The stays of extra Chinese language Folks’s Volunteers (CPV) martyrs killed within the Warfare to Resist U.S. Aggression and Help Korea can be returned to China from the Republic of Korea (ROK) in September, China’s Ministry of Veterans Affairs mentioned Sunday.
It will likely be the ninth repatriation of the stays of CPV martyrs following the signing of a handover settlement between the 2 international locations. Between 2014 and 2021, the stays of 825 troopers have been returned to China from the ROK, based on official figures.
China and the ROK have agreed that each side will work with one another to correctly deal with the handover work and additional deepen exchanges on this regard, the ministry mentioned in an announcement.
Nearly 200,000 CPV troopers have been confirmed killed within the Warfare to Resist U.S. Aggression and Help Korea, with most buried on the Korean Peninsula.
