TMC MLA Idris Ali on Wednesday accused Dhankhar of being communal and alleged that the Governor behaves in a communal method. “He’s a communal individual. The best way he’s behaving is extremely condemnable. He’s communal,” mentioned Idris Ali.

Earlier, Jagdeep Dhankhar had requested Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to withdraw her alleged remark declaring that the Trinamool Congress will observe 21 July as “a day of jihad in opposition to the BJP”. In a letter to Banerjee, Dhankhar claimed that such an “authoritarian and undemocratic” assertion will carry the “demise knell” of democracy and rule of regulation.
The governor wrote the letter after a BJP delegation, led by Chief of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, known as on him to hunt constitutional intervention for her assertion allegedly made at a programme in Asansol. “You’re urged to forthwith withdraw this most unconstitutional declaration of ‘jihad’ in opposition to the BJP on 21 July, 2022,” Dhankhar wrote to the chief minister and shared a duplicate of the communication on his Twitter deal with.
