I’m drenched in sweat from driving all day. I’m pedaling as quick as I can in the direction of the sunshine on the finish of a darkish tunnel when a cool afternoon breeze hits me, and I lastly see Lake Kawaguchi’s vibrant, deep blue colours. I set free a triumphant whoop because the highway turns downhill.
Then, I get up in my seat and let gravity do the remainder as a sundown baths Fujisan in a crimson glow. “So, that is the Fujigoko (Fuji 5 Lakes) biking journey,” I feel. That is my expertise biking across the iconic Mount Fuji and the way you are able to do it too.

Once I arrived in Fujikawaguchiko, I stayed at Hana Hostel and was welcomed by Hana and her household. Within the morning, I ate a hearty energy-supplying breakfast, loaded up complimentary snacks, rented a motorcycle from Hana and began down the hill in the direction of Lake Kawaguchi.
The roads on the town did give me some slight trepidation on the prospect of crashing into somebody on the slender sidewalks all day, however paths widened as soon as I reached the lake—with sufficient house for cyclists and pedestrians to share.
