Head and members of OCCI Elections Committee named

MUSCAT: Qais bin Mohammed al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Trade and Funding Promotion, has issued a Ministerial Resolution No 494/2022 naming the top and members of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Trade (OCCI) Elections Committee.

Article (1) states the OCCI Elections Committee shall be headed by Dr Saleh bin Stated bin Salim Masan, Below-Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Funding Promotion for Commerce and Trade.

Article (2) stipulates that the committee shall carry out its specialisations said in OCCI Election Committees Regulation. The panel’s specialisations embody supervising elections, proposing elections’ sub-committees, figuring out voting and candidacy dates (and choices to increase the identical if deemed essential) checking requests for candidacy, endorsing the ultimate lists of voters and candidates approving associated types (for voting, objections, petition) and approving the ultimate outcomes of voting.

Article (3) says that this choice shall be enforced from the day following its date of publication within the Official Gazette. — ONA
