Ministry aims to ban illegally imported phones from using networks in Cambodia

The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications says that goals to determine illegally imported telephones and block them from utilizing Cambodian cellular networks

The telephones can be blocked till till the right import tax is paid

Dr. Kun Nhim, Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister, Director Basic of the Basic Division of Customs and Excise of Cambodia, acknowledged that ‘The IMEI code of the telephone is used as a degree to activate the telephone

If the telephone doesn’t pay taxes, it won’t hook up with the Cambodian cellular system

[Registering] the telephone SIM with The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications will present cellular operators with the power to make use of it.’
