ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka has determined to launch round 950 containers caught at Colombo Port by with out paying demurrage penalties following a gathering between State Minister for Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya and Ports Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva.
The clearing of the containers will cut back congestion within the container yards at Colombo Port.
A call was made by Minister de Silva to launch to containers with out charging demurrage and the required proposal can be submitted to cupboard, a finance ministry assertion stated.
Among the many containers are 79 containers with 100,000 tonnes of rice, an announcement from the state ministry stated.
