A ceremony to felicitate college students who achieved excellent ends in the 2023/2024 GCE Superior Stage Examination, beneath the President’s Fund programme for honouring excessive achievers, was held this morning (02) on the Badulla Library Auditorium, beneath the patronage of Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne.

At this occasion, 240 college students from the Badulla and Monaragala Districts who ranked between 1st and tenth place in six topic streams on the GCE Superior Stage examinations of 2023 and 2024 acquired certificates of appreciation and incentive awards of Rs. 100,000 every. A complete of Rs. 24 million from the President’s Fund has been allotted for this function.

Senior Extra Secretary to the President and Secretary of the President’s Fund, Mr Roshan Gamage, delivered the welcome speech and defined the goals of the programme.

Addressing the gathering, Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne acknowledged that the current authorities is making a big funding in training, emphasising that nothing is extra beneficial for a nation’s future than funding in training. He additional stated that if kids contribute to the nation by way of the information they acquire, the federal government’s funding will actually profit the nation.

G. Nishantha, together with authorities officers, scholarship recipients and their mother and father have been current on the event.
