Junaid Anwar Chaudhry Vows to Rework Port Qasim into Maritime Industrial Ecosystem. Minister unveils ‘Sea-to-Metal Inexperienced Hall’ to revive Pakistan Metal Mills and enhance $100bn income purpose.

Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry on Monday introduced an formidable plan to rework Port Qasim into a totally built-in maritime-industrial ecosystem, saying the port’s modernization will assist generate not less than half of Pakistan’s $100 billion income goal. “Port Qasim improved its efficiency rating by 35.2 factors, exhibiting main progress in decreasing cargo dwell time, streamlining berth operations, and adopting digital administration instruments,” the minister stated.

1. ‘Sea-to-Metal’ Hall to Revive Business

Chaudhry unveiled the federal government’s plan to determine Pakistan’s first “Sea-to-Metal Inexperienced Maritime Industrial Hall”, anticipated to avoid wasting $13 billion over the subsequent decade and revive Pakistan Metal Mills. He stated the initiative will combine port operations with industrial exercise, making a steady worth chain from maritime logistics to metal manufacturing. Within the second part, an Built-in Maritime Industrial Advanced (IMIC) can be developed on the Iron Ore and Coal Berth (IOCB) terminal, linking ship recycling amenities with metal manufacturing to boost home output and create jobs.

“The ‘Metal-to-Inexperienced Sea’ challenge can be collectively applied by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and the Ministry of Industries to make sure sustainable industrial growth,” he added.
