Indian Coast Guard ship Amulya, the third vessel within the new-generation Adamya class quick patrol vessels, has been commissioned, officers mentioned on Friday.

Powered by two 3000 KW superior diesel engines, the vessel delivers a prime pace of 27 knots and an operational endurance of 1,500 nautical miles, enabling prolonged missions in India’s maritime zones, the ICG mentioned.The ship is fitted with indigenously developed controllable pitch propellers and high-precision gearboxes, which provide superior manoeuvrability, operational flexibility and enhanced efficiency at sea, it mentioned.

“The ship is armed with a 30 mm CRN-91 gun and two 12.7 mm stabilised remote-controlled weapons, supported by superior goal acquisition and fire-control methods,” the ICG added.

“The ship additionally options built-in applied sciences, together with an Built-in Bridge System, Built-in Equipment Management System, and Automated Energy Administration System that improve situational consciousness, system reliability, and operational effectivity,” it mentioned.

ICGS Amulya will probably be based mostly in Odisha’s Paradip and will probably be beneath the executive and operational management of the commander of the Coast Guard Area (North East), by means of the commander of the Coast Guard District Headquarters No 7, officers mentioned.

The ship is commanded by Commandant (JG) Anupam Singh and has a complement of 5 officers and 34 personnel.
