Seven individuals held as “cyber slaves” in Myanmar and compelled to hold out worldwide monetary frauds have been rescued and introduced again to India following a probe by the Mira Bhayandar Vasai Virar (MBVV) crime department, a senior official mentioned on Saturday (December 20, 2025).

They’d been held at KK Park, a infamous “rip-off centre” in Myawaddy Township in that nation, he added.

“A probe started after Mira Street residents Syed Irtiis Fazal Abbas Hussain and Ammar Aslam Lakdawala managed to return and file a grievance at Nayanagar police station. The duo revealed they had been lured by acquaintances Asif Khan and Adnan Sheikh with guarantees of jobs in Bangkok between July and September 2025. Nonetheless, they had been taken to Myanmar,” Assistant Commissioner of Police Madan Ballal mentioned.

“The victims had been handed over to 3 individuals recognized as Steve, Anna, and Leo at an organization known as UU8. They had been held underneath the specter of bodily violence and compelled to defraud international residents. After they refused, the syndicate demanded a ransom of Rs 6 lakh every, paid by way of varied Indian financial institution accounts, to safe their launch,” Mr. Ballal mentioned.

A probe revealed that a number of youths from Mira Bhayandar and Vasai-Virar had been trapped on this cycle of cyber slavery, Crime Department Unit I senior inspector Sushilkumar Shinde mentioned.

“We traced the victims by analysing passport numbers, Myanmar-based IP addresses, and cell knowledge. This info was crucial in coordinating with the Indian Embassy in Yangon by way of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) in New Delhi. On October 21, the Myanmar Military raided the KK Park,” he mentioned.

Leveraging the information offered by the MBVV police, the Indian authorities efficiently recognized and repatriated seven victims, together with 4 from MBVV police jurisdiction, this week, Mr. Shinde mentioned.

“On this connection, now we have arrested 4 key accused from Mira Bhayandar, Surat in Gujarat, and Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. This was not nearly native arrests. It was about dismantling a pipeline that turned job seekers into digital prisoners,” ACP Ballal mentioned.

They’ve been charged underneath the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for human trafficking, kidnapping for ransom, dishonest and different offences, he added.

The probe into the monetary trails of the ransom quantities is underway, Mr. Shinde mentioned.
