Quetta [Pakistan], December 22 (ANI): Not less than 11 Afghan nationals had been killed and 9 others injured after a pick-up automobile collided with an oil tanker close to the Nokundi space of Chagai district in Pakistan’s Balochistan province, Daybreak reported.

In line with officers, the Afghan nationals had been travelling in a pick-up whereas trying to illegally migrate to Europe through Iran with the help of an organised human smuggling community. The automobile, recognized as an Iran-made Zamyad pick-up, was carrying 21 Afghan nationals who had crossed into Pakistan by a route generally utilized by smugglers.

Police stated the accident occurred late at night time when the pick-up reached a distant Katcha space round 35 kilometres from Nokundi and collided head-on with an oil tanker travelling in the other way. Eleven passengers died on the spot, whereas 9 others sustained accidents.

Native residents and rescue groups rushed to the scene after being alerted within the early hours and recovered our bodies from the wreckage. The injured and deceased had been shifted to a close-by medical facility, Daybreak reported.

‘We obtained 11 our bodies and 9 injured within the district hospital of Nokundi,’ Medical Officer Dr Nadir Khan of Nokundi hospital confirmed, including that the injured had been supplied remedy within the hospital.

He additional stated the situation of all of the injured was now secure.

Police officers stated that every one these killed and injured within the accident, besides the motive force, had been Afghan nationals. After finishing authorized formalities and preliminary medical procedures, the injured and the our bodies of the deceased had been despatched to Afghanistan by the Afghan border authorities.

Superintendent of Police of Chagai Mohammad Sharif confirmed the deaths and stated the motive force of the pick-up, recognized as Khudanazar, son of Abdullah, was a resident of Taftan and died on the spot.

‘After essential authorized procedures, the physique of the motive force has been despatched to Taftan, whereas the remaining deceased and injured, all Afghan nationals, have been repatriated to Afghanistan,’ he stated.

Sharif added that investigations into the reason for the accident are underway, with preliminary findings indicating that rushing might have led to the collision. Police are analyzing all features to find out accountability, Daybreak reported.
