Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry stated on Monday that the ban on conferences with incarcerated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan would stay in place till February 8, 2026.

The federal minister made the remarks whereas talking on Geo Information’ programme Capital Discuss on Monday night.

A blanket ban on conferences with the jailed PTI founder was imposed by the federal authorities earlier this month, citing violations of jail guidelines by Khan’s sisters.

Info Minis­ter Attaullah Tarar had stated that the choice to ban Khan’s conferences along with his sisters and different PTI leaders was made in mild of jail guidelines that bar political dialogue with inmates.

Khan, who has been in jail since August 2023, faces a number of instances starting from corruption to terrorism since his ouster from energy by way of the opposition’s no-trust movement in April 2022.

Talking on the present, PTI Senator Barrister Ali Zafar stated that neither the worldwide nor Pakistan’s Structure and legal guidelines enable anybody to be saved in solitary confinement.

Responding to a query, the federal minister stated that changing PTI-backed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi within the subsequent six weeks was not the will of the Centre.

He clarified that the federal authorities needed the KP CM to proceed working.

Talking on Geo Information’ programme “Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Saath”, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah stated it was not true that no path had been left for the PTI.

Taking a dig on the former ruling occasion, the PML-N senator stated: “PTI members don’t wish to take any path”.

The PTI had just one path — insurrection and eliminating its opponents, he added.

Responding to a query, he requested, “If the choice on the Could 9 instances won’t be made even in 2025, then when will it’s?”

He made the remarks within the backdrop of the Toshakhana-2 case verdict, by which a particular court docket had sentenced the previous prime minister and his spouse, Bushra Bibi, to 17 years’ imprisonment every.
