Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesia’s Ministry of Forestry is collaborating with India-based Vantara Conservation Middle to stop deaths amongst Sumatran elephants (Elephas maximus sumatranus) brought on by Elephant Endotheliotropic Herpesvirus (EEHV).

In an announcement obtained in Jakarta on Monday (December 22), Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni mentioned the federal government would give particular consideration to EEHV prevention following the demise of a younger elephant named Laila on the Sebanga Elephant Conservation Middle in Bengkalis, Riau, because of EEHV an infection.
