Opposition events held a protest this afternoon (10) beneath the theme “Let Us Safeguard Free Schooling”, opposing the brand new schooling reforms and the Minister of Schooling.
The demonstration was held in entrance of the statue of C. W. W. Kannangara, thought to be the Father of Free Schooling, in Matugama.
Through the protest, public signatures have been additionally collected for a petition demanding the resignation of the Minister of Schooling, Larger Schooling and Vocational Schooling, Prime Minister Dr Harini Amarasuriya.
Thereafter, Opposition Chief Sajith Premadasa, chief of the Sarvajana Balaya Dilith Jayaweera, together with different social gathering leaders, paid floral tributes on the Kannangara statue.
