Kabul [Afghanistan], January 13 (ANI): The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) on Tuesday introduced the appointment of Toby Radford as their nationwide workforce’s batting coach and Robert Ahmun as their new energy and conditioning coach, as per a launch.

The ACB additionally confirmed that the duo will be part of the senior males’s squad forward of the three-match T20I collection in opposition to the West Indies.

Toby Radford had beforehand coached Welsh Cricket, and he was a former First-Class cricketer who performed for Middlesex and Sussex. Toby has been broadly recognised as an England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB)- Degree 4-certified coach.

At present, the previous cricketer serves as the top coach of Dhaka Capitals within the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2026 season.

Earlier, Toby served because the Batting Coach for the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Excessive Efficiency Centre (2022-2024) and Head of Excessive Efficiency for the Bangladesh Cricket Board (2020-2022).

The previous cricketer additionally performed a significant function on the West Indies teaching workers throughout their 2012 ICC Males’s T20 World Cup triumph and a historic Check collection win in opposition to England in 2019.

The 54-year-old performed 14 First-Class matches and notched up 476 runs, together with 5 half-centuries. In Checklist A cricket, Toby notched up 159 runs in six matches at a median of 31.80, with the assistance of 1 fifty.

Robert Ahmun hails from Cardiff and Wales. Lately, he served because the Head of Efficiency Science and Medication for the ECB. He assumed that function in December 2022. Since then, Robert has seen the bodily preparation and medical providers for England’s nationwide cricket groups.

With over 20 years of expertise, Ahmun’s served within the ECB’s Nationwide Lead for Energy and Conditioning (2017-2022) and training inside the England Pathways program.

Ahmun holds an MSc in Sport and Train Science from the College of Wales, Cardiff (2003) and a bachelor’s diploma from the College of Exeter (1998).

In the meantime, Afghanistan will tackle the West Indies in a T20I collection. The three matches are scheduled for January 19, 21, and 22 in Dubai.

After the conclusion of the three-match T20I collection between Afghanistan and the West Indies, each nations will take part within the ICC Males’s T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka. (ANI)
