Washington DC [US], January 24 (ANI): UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Prince Harry condemned the remarks by US President Donald Trump about sending troops to the Afghan frontlines, CNN reported.

Their reactions got here after Trump, in an interview with Fox Information, spoke in regards to the US involvement in NATO and stated that Washington obtained little in return when in comparison with its contributions. ‘Will they be there if we ever wanted them?’ Trump requested, ‘I am unsure of that.’

With reference to NATO members sending troops to Afghanistan, CNN reported that Trump stated, ‘We have by no means wanted them. We’ve got by no means actually requested something of them. You realize, they will say they despatched some troops to Afghanistan, or this or that. And so they did – they stayed a bit of again, a bit of off the entrance traces,’ he stated.

In a video message on X, the UK PM paid tributes to the 457 armed forces personnel who misplaced their lives in Afghanistan and recalled their braveness, bravery and sacrifice and a number of other of these injured with life-changing accidents.

CNN reported that round 3,500 allied troops died within the battle, of whom 2456 have been Individuals and 457 have been British.

The Duke of Sussex, who served within the British Military with two excursions of Afghanistan, issued a robust assertion by way of his spokesperson on January 23 in response to Trump, Folks reported.

CNN reported that when requested to reply to Starmer’s feedback, the White Home shrugged off his criticism and insisted Trump was appropriate.

‘President Trump is completely proper – the USA of America has finished extra for NATO than another nation within the alliance has finished mixed,’ Taylor Rogers, a White Home spokeswoman, stated as per CNN. (ANI)
