LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Thursday ordered the arrest of Site visitors Engineering and Planning Company (TIPA) mission director, supervisor, advisor and a Water and Sanitation Company (Wasa) official over the deaths of a girl and her daughter, who fell into an open manhole close to Bhatti Gate in Lahore a day earlier.

The lady, Sadia, alongside along with her 10-month-old daughter, Rida Fatima, died after falling right into a manhole close to Bhati Gate in Lahore on Wednesday.

Chairing a particular assembly on the lounge of the Lahore airport, CM Maryam ordered Punjab Inspector Common of Police Dr Usman Anwar to arrest Mission Supervisor Asghar Sindhu, Security In-charge Daniyal, Web site In-charge Ahmed Nawaz and Wasa’s official Usman Babar over “extreme negligence.”

Along with this, she ordered to dismiss the mission director and the Wasa official from service, saying: “These two officers shouldn’t be given any job so that they realise the gravity of the felony negligence they dedicated.”

The chief minister additional mentioned that the affected household needs to be given Rs10 million from the contractor.

“There isn’t any distinction between the Bhati Gate incident and the homicide,” she mentioned, including that felony act came about at each stage.

The chief minister additionally held Lahore Growth Authority’s (LDA) director common, Wasa managing director, Lahore commissioner, deputy commissioner and assistant commissioner liable for the incident.
