Muscat: Muscat hosted the official opening ceremony of the fifth West Asia Para Video games (Muscat 2026) on Tuesday night, in a festive environment that mirrored the Sultanate of Oman’s stature as a bunch of main worldwide championships for individuals with disabilities.

The opening ceremony was held underneath the auspices of Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali al Harthy, Beneath-Secretary of the International Ministry for Political Affairs, and attended by Basil bin Ahmed al Rawas, Beneath-Secretary of the Ministry of Tradition, Sports activities and Youth for Sports activities and Youth, Chair of the Video games’ Increased Organising Committee, together with heads of nationwide Paralympic delegations, representatives of sports activities federations, a number of dignitaries, ambassadors and company.

In brief-stature males’s doubles, Iraq’s Imad Adel and Saudi Arabia’s Younus al Subhi captured gold, with silver going to Jordan’s Mohammed al Tawwalbeh and Lebanon’s Reda Nabil.

In singles wheelchair occasions, Iraq’s Mohammed Karim received gold, Saudi Arabia’s Mahdi Saleh took silver, and bronze was shared by Iraq’s Hassan Wathiq and the UAE’s Siham al Rashidi.
