In an advisory issued to the Analysis and Reference Wing of the Ministry of Non secular Affairs, the division stated the moon shall be born on the conjunction level at 5:01pm on February 17, and that astronomical parameters point out a good probability of sighting on February 18 (twenty ninth Shaban 1447 AH).

As per custom, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee would maintain its session on Shaban 29, with zonal committees assembly of their respective domains, to obtain and assess moon sighting experiences and announce the sighting of the moon.
