CM Maryam sets three-month deadline for police reforms in Punjab

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Saturday introduced a sweeping reform agenda for the provincial police, directing officers to implement a sequence of modernisation measures inside three months to reinforce public service supply and accountability.

Chairing a high-level assembly in Lahore, the chief minister permitted a number of initiatives, together with the set up of panic buttons exterior police stations, obligatory video and audio recording of investigations, and the introduction of a web-based FIR monitoring system to facilitate residents.
