Transportation Minister announces launch of National Aviation Strategy (2026–2027)

Manama, Feb. 15 (BNA): Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, introduced the launch of the Nationwide Aviation Technique (2026–2027). The initiative aligns with authorities efforts to develop the civil aviation sector and improve its contribution to the nationwide economic system, according to Bahrain Financial Imaginative and prescient 2030.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed emphasised that the technique displays Bahrain’s dedication to strengthening its place as a number one regional and world aviation hub. He famous that the technique was developed by way of collaborative efforts with private and non-private sector companions, primarily based on the precept that sustainable success is achieved by way of joint motion and the mixing of nationwide efforts.

The Transportation Minister stated that the technique is constructed on responding to market wants as the first driver of sector development. He emphasised that its aims concentrate on establishing a totally built-in aviation ecosystem aligned with worldwide requirements; remodeling Bahrain Worldwide Airport into a world centre of excellence and a most well-liked hub for business and personal aviation, in addition to upkeep, restore and overhaul (MRO) and logistics providers; and increasing the community of air locations from 66 to 100 by 2030, thereby supporting GDP development and creating high-quality employment alternatives for Bahraini residents.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed stated that implementation of the technique will depend on three most important pillars: enhancing regulatory excellence and governance to make sure security whereas assembly market calls for; creating operational providers to place Bahrain as a most well-liked aviation vacation spot; and investing in infrastructure, sustainability, and nationwide expertise improvement.

Husain Al Shuail, Undersecretary for Civil Aviation Affairs, famous that the two-year technique contains actionable initiatives and efficiency indicators to make sure steady monitoring and analysis of its packages and tasks.

Throughout the launch occasion on the Awal Personal Terminal, a Letter of Intent (LOI) was signed between the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications and BeOnd Airline, in addition to THC – the Helicopter Firm to assist the technique’s targets, develop air connectivity, and strengthen Bahrain’s place as a number one regional aviation and logistics hub.

The ceremony was attended by senior officers and representatives from the private and non-private aviation sectors.
