Manama, Feb. 25 (BNA): The ultra-large container vessel MSC MARIELLA, operated by Mediterranean Delivery Firm, has arrived at Khalifa Bin Salman Port, marking the biggest container ship ever to enter the territorial waters of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

 

Bader Hood Al Mahmood, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications for Ports and Maritime Affairs, affirmed that the vessel’s arrival represents a big milestone within the continued improvement of Bahrain’s maritime and logistics sector. He famous that it displays the rising confidence of main international delivery strains within the Kingdom’s superior infrastructure, operational effectivity, and readiness to accommodate the newest era of ultra-large container vessels.

 

He added that attracting vessels of this scale additional consolidates Bahrain’s standing as a number one regional logistics hub linking Asia and the Center East. The transfer helps the enlargement of direct commerce flows with key worldwide markets, according to Bahrain Financial Imaginative and prescient 2030, and enhances the nationwide economic system’s competitiveness at each regional and international ranges.

 

Commemorative shields had been exchanged to mark the event, underscoring the importance of this milestone within the development of Bahrain’s maritime sector and reaffirming the outstanding place of Khalifa Bin Salman Port on the worldwide delivery map.

 

The arrival of MSC MARIELLA types a part of the “CLANGA” service, which supplies direct connectivity between the Kingdom of Bahrain and main international markets. The service enhances provide chain effectivity, reduces transit instances, helps import and export actions, and affords a further aggressive benefit to merchants and buyers throughout the area.

 

The vessel has a carrying capability of 24,346 twenty-foot equal models (TEUs) and measures roughly 400 metres in size, inserting it among the many world’s Extremely-Giant Container Vessels (ULCVs). Its name at Khalifa Bin Salman Port displays the port’s superior operational capabilities and its capability to obtain and deal with the biggest container ships in service worldwide.
