Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesia’s Ministry of Spiritual Affairs has partnered with the British Council to reinforce the competency of English academics at madrasahs (Islamic faculties) via an eight‑week Persevering with Skilled Improvement (CPD) program.

The collaboration was formalized with a Memorandum of Understanding signed in November 2025 and concluded with an in‑individual workshop on the Ministry’s workplace in Jakarta in late February 2026.

Spiritual Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar described the initiative as a concrete step towards advancing the Ministry’s strategic priorities.

“It additionally helps the settlement beneath the Indonesia–UK Strategic Partnership signed by President Prabowo Subianto and Prime Minister Keir Starmer in January 2026, wherein schooling is among the predominant pillars of cooperation,” he mentioned.

Indonesia presently information 41,833 madrasah academics nationwide. Umar emphasised that strengthening their capability is strategic, because it not solely nurtures a technology of Muslims with a powerful spiritual basis but in addition expands college students’ entry to increased schooling and world networks.
