Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has invited parliamentary leaders and heads of political events for a briefing on the regional scenario, the PM’s adviser Rana Sanaullah stated on Tuesday.

Chatting with the media in Islamabad, he stated the assembly can be held on Wednesday at 11:30am to debate home and regional safety amid Pakistan’s response to the Afghan Taliban regime’s provocative actions alongside the border and the battle within the Center East.

“We’ve come to ask opposition leaders and celebration heads on the directions of the prime minister,” Sanaullah stated.

He stated that opposition leaders have been requested to supply views past partisan concerns.

“Opposition leaders will seek the advice of with their colleagues earlier than taking any choices,” Sanaullah stated, emphasising that no facet ought to connect any calls for to the assembly.

Nonetheless, Nationwide Meeting Opposition Chief Mahmood Khan Achakzai advised the briefing ought to be expanded to the whole parliament reasonably than chosen members.

“Given the damaging regional developments, Parliament should be saved absolutely knowledgeable. We are going to present our response by [Wednesday] morning after consulting with our colleagues,” he stated.

The scheduling of the briefing comes as tensions within the Center East spike following joint strikes by the USA and Israel on Iran.

The 2 nations launched an assault on Tehran on February 28, with US officers saying the army marketing campaign aimed to destroy Iran’s navy and missile capabilities.

In addition to the Center East battle, Pakistan can also be tackling cross-border terrorism originating from Afghanistan.

He added that Sanaullah has been tasked with extending invites to the heads of political events.
