India is gearing up an evacuation plan with helplines for expatriates stranded in war-hit West Asia, because the battle disrupts business flight operations throughout the Gulf area.

Prime authorities sources informed CNN-News18 that the security and well-being of practically one crore Indian residents residing and dealing within the Gulf stays the “highest precedence” for the Authorities of India.

“The Ministry of Exterior Affairs (MEA) is establishing devoted management rooms from March 4, 2026, together with helplines to help Indians stranded in Gulf nations the place the continued battle has disrupted flights,” sources stated.

Indian embassies and consulates in affected nations are in shut contact with Indian nationals, issuing common advisories and increasing all potential help to these impacted by the escalating scenario.

Sources stated the federal government is prioritising the secure return of all affected residents and is coordinating with missions overseas to trace their whereabouts and estimate the variety of Indians stranded in numerous nations.

Management rooms will function in key places together with the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Iran and Jordan, amongst different affected areas the place airspace closures have halted business operations.

“This initiative goals to assemble correct information on stranded Indians and can allow the federal government to plot efficient repatriation mechanisms as soon as circumstances permit,” sources stated.

The Centre is totally ready to carry again Indians stranded within the Gulf area and stays in fixed contact with Indian missions overseas to make sure their secure return as quickly because the scenario stabilises.

“The main focus stays on welfare, with particular flights deliberate as quickly as airspace reopens,” sources added.
