Two extra suspects who allegedly aided and abetted the capturing and killing of a lawyer and his spouse in Akuregoda, Thalangama, have been arrested by the Western Province South Crime Division yesterday (06).

The suspects have been arrested for allegedly aiding the crime by transporting one of many gunmen by bus to the Monaragala space following the incident.

Police acknowledged that the suspects are residents of Ibbagamuwa and Makola, aged 39 and 53 respectively.

Investigations have revealed that one of many suspects transported the gunman utilizing a bus that had been bought with cash offered by an organised crime gang member who’s presently abroad. The bus in query has additionally been taken into custody by investigating officers.

A number of police groups are presently conducting investigations into the murders, which happened on 13 February.

Accordingly, officers from the Western Province South Crime Division and the Homagama Divisional Legal Investigation Bureau have up to now arrested eight suspects, together with the 2 gunmen concerned within the crime and others who aided and abetted the offence.

Additional investigations are being carried out by the Western Province South Crime Division.
