Capitals, March 15 (SANA) The United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia stated on Sunday that their air protection methods intercepted a number of Iranian missiles and drones over their airspace amid escalating regional tensions.
In a press release posted on the social media platform X, the UAE Ministry of Protection stated its air protection methods had intercepted missiles and drones launched from Iran.
“The sounds heard in numerous elements of the nation have been the results of air protection methods intercepting ballistic missiles, along with fighter jets intercepting drones and cruise missiles,” the ministry stated.
In the meantime, the Saudi Press Company (SPA) cited Protection Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Turki al-Maliki as saying that Saudi air defenses intercepted and destroyed 4 drones within the airspace over the Riyadh area.
The area has witnessed rising army tensions since Feb. 28, amid the continued battle involving the USA, Israel and Iran, accompanied by Iranian missile and drone assaults concentrating on a number of nations within the area.
