Khyber [Pakistan], March 20 (ANI): The physique of an Afghan nationwide, which had been mendacity at Zero Level (Iran-Pakistan border) alongside the Torkham border for a number of days, was handed over to Afghan authorities on Thursday by a delegation of native tribal elders, Daybreak reported.

The event comes a day after Pakistan introduced a ‘short-term pause’ in its ongoing Operation Ghazab lil-Haq towards the Afghan Taliban, citing Eid-ul-Fitr and requests from ‘brotherly Islamic nations’.

In line with Daybreak, native residents had initially noticed the physique and recorded movies, later informing safety officers in regards to the state of affairs.

A bunch of tribal elders — together with Malak Tajuddin, Mufti Ejaz, Shah Khalid, Qari Jihad Shah, Qari Nazeem Gul and Saeed Khan — subsequently visited the Torkham border to retrieve the stays, Daybreak reported.

Talking to Daybreak, Shah Khalid stated the delegation had maintained contact with Pakistani safety officers and Afghan representatives over the previous week regardless of the prevailing safety challenges.

He stated Afghan authorities had confirmed on March 13 that the deceased was an Afghan nationwide working as a every day wage labourer. Nonetheless, the retrieval was delayed on account of prolonged consultations amongst Afghan officers.

Khalid famous that the elders continued of their efforts, urging authorities on either side to facilitate the restoration and burial of the physique with out additional delay, as per Daybreak.

In line with Daybreak, he stated that with a ‘short-term pause’ in Operation Ghazab Lil Haq, they made efforts once more, demanding that native authorities enable them to retrieve the physique and hand it over to the authorities in Afghan.

‘Our requests had been lastly accepted, and we had been allowed to retrieve the physique and hand it over to Afghan authorities on purely humanitarian grounds,’ he added.

He additional stated the physique was in a complicated state of decomposition, which made it troublesome for the delegation to put it in a coffin throughout the switch, Daybreak reported. (ANI)
