An unlawful manufacturing unit producing banned polythene ‘lunch sheets’ has been raided in Bandaragama, authorities mentioned.
The raid was carried out on Monday (10) by the Central Environmental Authority (CEA) and the Client Affairs Authority (CAA) within the Kalutara District.
Through the operation, officers seized a inventory of prohibited polythene lunch sheets that had been being manufactured on the facility. The CAA has taken the objects into custody to take authorized motion.
The CEA acknowledged that authorized proceedings might be filed towards the manufacturing unit proprietor underneath the Nationwide Environmental Act.
Authorities have warned that strict motion might be taken towards these concerned within the unlawful manufacturing of banned plastic merchandise.
