MUSCAT — Dams in Oman’s North Al Sharqiyah Governorate have exceeded 75% of their storage capability following days of heavy rainfall, prompting authorities to open floodgates to handle water ranges and improve groundwater recharge, officers mentioned on Friday.
The Ministry of Agricultural, Fisheries and Water Assets mentioned groundwater recharge and floor storage dams throughout a number of wilayats within the governorate recorded greater than 6 million cubic metres of water amid the continuing climate system affecting the Sultanate.
