Six individuals have been injured in a conflict between employees of the Left Democratic Entrance (LDF) and the United Democratic Entrance (UDF) in the course of the marketing campaign finale (Kottikalasham) in Azhikode constituency in Kannur on Tuesday.
4 LDF employees and two UDF employees sustained accidents in separate incidents reported from totally different places within the constituency.
The injured LDF employees – Anugrah, Ok.V. Abhijith, and Ok. Rajesh – have been admitted to a hospital.
Alleging that UDF employees have been behind the assault, CPI(M) Kannur district secretary Ok.Ok. Ragesh visited the injured and accused the Opposition of instigating violence.
In a separate incident, two UDF employees have been attacked whereas returning on a motorbike after the marketing campaign occasion at Vankulathul Vayal later within the night time.
They have been admitted to a personal hospital in Pappinissery.
The UDF alleged that CPI(M) employees unleashed violence out of “worry of defeat” within the constituency, escalating political tensions on the eve of the polling.
