U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to wipe out Iran’s “complete civilization” and continued assaults on the nation’s important oil export facility, as mediators pleaded with the president to increase his Tuesday deadline.
Pakistan, which has facilitated peace negotiations, requested Trump to increase, for 2 weeks, his ultimatum to open the Strait of Hormuz or face additional assaults on civilian infrastructure.
“Pakistan, in all sincerity, requests the Iranian brothers to open Strait of Hormuz for a corresponding interval of two weeks as a goodwill gesture,” Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif mentioned in a social media put up, including that talks had been “progressing steadily, strongly and powerfully.”
