ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: United States Vice President JD Vance stated on Sunday (Apr 11) that negotiations between the US and the Iranians have ended with no deal because the Iranians refused to simply accept American phrases to not develop a nuclear weapon.

The high-stakes talks in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad ended after 21 hours, with Vance in fixed communication with President Donald Trump and others within the administration.

“However the easy reality is that we have to see an affirmative dedication that they won’t search a nuclear weapon, and they won’t search the instruments that might allow them to shortly obtain a nuclear weapon,” Vance advised reporters, including that the primary sticking level was Iran’s nuclear programme.

“That’s the core purpose of the president of the USA. And that’s what we’ve tried to attain via these negotiations.”

Vance signalled that he was nonetheless giving time to Iran to think about the supply from the US, which on Tuesday stated it might pause assaults with Israel for 2 weeks pending negotiations.
