WASHINGTON : The US army’s Central Command (CENTCOM) stated no vessels have entered or exited Iranian ports within the 48 hours since Washington started implementing a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, signalling tight management over one of many world’s most crucial delivery routes.
In an announcement, CENTCOM stated 9 vessels had complied with orders from US forces to show round in the course of the interval.
The replace contradicts earlier experiences by Iran’s Fars Information Company, which claimed a sanctioned Iranian supertanker had sailed via the strait en path to Imam Khomeini Port.
In response to the report, it stays unclear whether or not the tanker – able to carrying as much as 2 million barrels of crude – had offloaded its cargo.
