NEWTON COUNTY — A person accused of impersonating a police officer whereas sporting camouflaged clothes was arrested final week.
On Tuesday, April 14, Jaquan Franklin of Covington reportedly approached a residence on Wellstone Place beneath the guise that he was a police officer. In response to an arrest narrative, Franklin advised the home-owner that he was “Lt. Howard with the Newton County Sheriff’s Workplace” and that he was there to examine packages on her entrance porch containing unlawful medicine.
The home-owner stated that Franklin was sporting a camouflage fight uniform.
