May 2026 to bring extended holidays

Could 2026 is shaping as much as be a month of prolonged breaks, providing residents a chance for relaxation and household time with a number of public holidays alongside common weekends.

The month will start with an extended weekend as Labour Day on Could 1 falls on a Friday, combining with Saturday and Sunday.

The schedule for Eid al-Adha will rely upon moon sighting. In line with Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, the Zil Hajj moon sighting assembly is predicted on Could 17.

If the moon is sighted on Could 17, Eid holidays are doubtless from Could 27 to Could 29 (Wednesday to Friday), which, when mixed with the weekend, would lead to a five-day break till Could 31.

If the lunar month completes 30 days, Eid is predicted on Could 28 and 29 (Thursday and Friday), providing a four-day vacation when mixed with the weekend.

Earlier, the federal government issued its annual public vacation calendar for 2026, outlining 11 public holidays and 23 non-compulsory holidays all year long.

Different key dates embrace Kashmir Day on February 5, Pakistan Day on March 23, and Eid ul-Fitr anticipated from March 21 to 23.

Additional holidays embrace Yom-e-Takbeer on Could 28, Ashura on June 24 and 25, Independence Day on August 14, Eid Milad-un-Nabi on August 25, Iqbal Day on November 9, and Quaid-e-Azam Day on December 25.

Moreover, December 26 shall be noticed as a vacation for the Christian neighborhood to have a good time Christmas.
