Restriction on out of doors drone flying remained enforced throughout the province for an additional 30 days, says notification

The Punjab authorities prolonged the enforcement of Part 144 throughout the province, sustaining a whole ban on out of doors drone flying, a notification issued on Sunday mentioned.

In line with the House Division, the restriction on flying drones in open areas had been prolonged for an additional 30 days and would stay in power till Might 25. The measure was initially imposed in view of safety issues.

“Contemplating the general safety scenario, it’s crucial to make sure the protection of the individuals and safety of installations and buildings in opposition to any potential menace or untoward exercise,” the notification acknowledged.

The order emphasised that the restrictions have been prolonged within the “bigger curiosity of public security, safety, peace and tranquillity,” including that there have been “ample grounds” to proceed enforcement underneath Part 144 of the Code of Prison Process, 1898, to stop any disturbance of public peace and safeguard lives and property.

Nonetheless, the ban doesn’t apply to the restricted use of small drones throughout indoor occasions. Authorities clarified that small drones could also be used inside marriage ceremony halls and marquees for protection functions.

“Protected utilization of such drones in a restricted and confined indoor space shall be the duty of the organiser,” the notification mentioned.

The restriction additionally exempted using drones by intelligence and regulation enforcement businesses. The Punjab authorities directed the administration and police to make sure strict implementation of the order in the course of the enforcement interval.
