Former Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Member of Parliament, Eran Wickramaratne, has been appointed because the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Cricket Transitional Interim Committee.

The opposite members appointed to the committee embrace Roshan Mahanama, Kumar Sangakkara, Thushira Radella, Sidath Wettimuny, Avanti Colombage, Prakash Schaffter, Upul Kumarapperuma, and Dinal Phillips.

Following the resignation of President Shammi Silva and the Govt Committee, the administration of Sri Lanka Cricket has been taken over by the Ministry of Sports activities.

Consequently, till a brand new board of officers is elected, all selections relating to the cricket governing physique shall be dealt with by the Eran Wickramaratne-led Transitional Interim Committee.

SLC administration falls below Sports activities Ministry’s oversight

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports activities states that the Sports activities Minister as we speak (April 29) accepted the resignation of the President of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), Mr. Shammi Silva, and the Govt Committee.

Accordingly, below the powers vested in him by Sections 31 and 34 of the Sports activities Legislation No. 25 of 1973, all administrative features of Sri Lanka Cricket shall be quickly introduced below the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports activities, efficient as we speak.

A committee is scheduled to be appointed shortly to search out options to the present points in cricket and to implement structural reforms.

Earlier, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) introduced that the SLC President Shammi Silva in addition to the workplace bearers and members of the Govt Committee have submitted their resignations.

The media launch additional notes that the choice has been communicated to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Sports activities Minister – Sunil Kumara Gamage.
