A Police Constable who fled throughout a CIABOC raid over an alleged Rs. 200,000 bribe has been arrested and remanded till Could 12, 2026.
The Fee to Examine Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) carried out the raid on April 24, 2026, following an allegation linked to the discharge of a suspect arrested over possession of “Ice” medicine.
In accordance with CIABOC, officers of the Anti-Corruption Unit of the Peliyagoda Police had arrested an individual on April 19, 2026, over a cost of possessing crystal methamphetamine, generally often called “Ice”.
It’s alleged that Rs. 200,000 had been demanded and accepted as a bribe to launch the arrested individual with out taking authorized motion in opposition to him.
Throughout the raid, one Police Constable was arrested, whereas one other Police Constable fled the scene.
The officer who fled has been recognized as Kiwuldeniya Herath Mudiyanselage Dinusha Shehan Bandara Kiwuldeniya.
CIABOC investigation officers arrested him at round 9:40 AM on Could 4, 2026.
He was later produced earlier than the Colombo Chief Justice of the Peace’s Court docket and was remanded till Could 12, 2026.
