Delhi’s Alarming Theft Statistics

Delhi reported a staggering 1,80,973 theft instances in 2024, leading to virtually 3,480 instances per week, and roughly 497 instances per day, which is 73.3 per cent of the nationwide whole – a serious lead over different metropolitan centres.

Different Metropolitan Cities

Mumbai adopted with 10,854 instances (4.4 per cent), Bengaluru 9,229 instances (3.7 per cent) and Jaipur 9,051 instances (3.7 per cent), in accordance with the report.

Decline in Property Crimes

In 2024, crimes beneath the ‘offences in opposition to property’ header dipped by 14.4 per cent from 2023, when 3,28,100 instances had been recorded.

Theft as a Main Crime Class
