Britain’s maritime safety company, the UK Maritime Commerce Operations (UKMTO), mentioned on Thursday that it had acquired data concerning the seizure of a ship roughly 38 nautical miles, or round 70 kilometres, north-east of Fujairah port within the United Arab Emirates.

In line with the company, the identification of the vessel has not but been disclosed.

The UKMTO mentioned the ship was anchored close to the Strait of Hormuz when it was reportedly captured by unauthorised people and was being taken in the direction of Iranian waters.

Indian-Flagged Ship Sunk In Drone Assault

The Gujarat-based cargo vessel Haji Ali got here underneath a drone assault at round 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday whereas passing by means of the Lima space off the northern coast of Oman.

The strike triggered a large fireplace onboard, inflicting the vessel to lose steadiness earlier than sinking into the ocean.

India Condemns Assault

The Ministry of Exterior Affairs strongly condemned the assault on Thursday.

Overseas Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal mentioned, “The assault on an Indian-flagged ship off the coast of Oman is totally unacceptable, and we strongly condemn the continued concentrating on of business and civilian vessels.”

He added that each one Indian crew members aboard the ship have been protected and expressed help for the Omani authorities concerned within the rescue efforts.

Strait Of Hormuz Beneath World Focus

The developments come amid heightened tensions in West Asia linked to the continued US-Iran battle, with the Strait of Hormuz remaining a key flashpoint for world maritime safety and worldwide commerce.
